We congratulate you for choosing Spring Dale International School (SDIS) as the Education Provider for your child. For the all round development of the child, a parent should know all the rules and regulations laid down by the school. Hence we are pleased to provide you with the “Guidelines for Parents”, which will be beneficial to both the Parents and the School.

Do's and Don’ts

1.

Parents are forbidden to discuss any matter, transact any business such as advertise, distribute leaflets/hand outs, paste posters, pass messages through children, gather in a group and gossip/confer or connive, speak or shout loudly, coax or force contributions, use the school compound, school gates and immediate vicinity outside the school gates for an act or activity prejudicial to the conducive academic atmosphere and fair name of the school.

2.

All belongings of a child such as text books, exercise books, bag, sweater, belt, pencil box, umbrella, raincoat, Tiffin box, etc. must be marked with the name of the child.

3.

A student should only bring school text books to school. No student will bring any comics, bad and immoral literature, photographs, pin ups, video games, playing cards, calculators etc. to school. Students are not allowed to bring Cell phone, Camera, I-Pad, MP3 Player or any other electronic gadgets to school. If such gadgets are confiscated from any student a fine of Rs. 500/- will be imposed. If the offence is repeated a fine of Rs. 1000/- will be imposed.

4.

To check students hoodwinking money from their parents in the name of fine, parents will only give fine money to the ward if it has been recorded in the calendar and signed by the school authorities.

5.

Students are not allowed to eat chewing-gum, betel, betel nut or any other spicy titbits.

6.

Students are required to do some home work every day. Parents should ensure completion of home work. Defaulters will be punished.

7.

Spring Dale international School (SDIS) being a co-educational institution, a strict moral code has to be maintained. Any student involved in any immoral act, use of vulgar language, scandals or rumor mongering, writing letters and memos, passing remarks, connecting names etc., acquiring bad reputation/name in or outside the school, smoking or taking drugs will be expelled from the school or heavily fined and publicly announced in the school assembly.

8.

Though every care is taken for the safety of the children while at school, still a child may get injured due to an accident. Children are more prone to accidents, hence school cannot be held responsible for injury caused through an accident in the school campus, school bus, sports, picnics, hikes or any such other activity.

9.

An act of indiscipline, insubordination, interference in the administration, disrespect to any teacher and school authorities, disrespect of any religion or community by any student, disobedience, fighting/hitting/abusing and threatening a fellow student, conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school will attract severe punishment, even expulsion from the school.

10.

Parents are expected to be tolerant, polite, understanding and respectful to school authorities, staff and teachers and not be shouting, threatening, uncivil and abusive. They should air their views/grievances patiently and politely directly to the school authorities. The school rules are for the good of all and cannot cater for individual taste / requirement / convenience / whims and fancies. Any parent violating this rule will be asked to withdraw his ward from the school.

11.

Entry into the school compound will be governed by gate opening and closing timings. Gate will not remain open all the time for security reasons. Security Personnel will only attend the gate during the time the gate is supposed to remain open.

12.

Students are expected to preserve school property (including electronic gadgets, equipment's, furniture & fixture), hence any destruction of school property will attract a fine of Rs. 500/- along-with the price of the item broken/destroyed.

13.

Students will be fined for destroying the property of other students. The fine imposed will be decided on the type of destruction made. The Principal's discretion will be final and binding.

14.

Parents / Guardians are strictly requested not to send any gifts, cash or valuables for the staff of the school. In order to celebrate a child’s birthday in school, except chocolates, no birthday cakes/pastries or any other item should be sent.

15.

Students are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings. Each article should be labeled with the students' name and class.

16.

You are requested to be vigilant and keep a check on the kind of literature, CD/ DVD being read and viewed by your ward.

17.

Any form of addiction, irregular attendance, disobedience, misconduct, using unfair means in examination will lead to stern disciplinary action.

18.

SDIS being an English medium school, students are expected to converse in English language only. Defaulters will be severely dealt with.

Q?

SCHOOL TIMINGS/LEAVE GUIDELINES

1.

Students should be punctual to the school in the morning. To inculcate the virtue of Punctuality, the student’s right from their childhood will be watched and educated to be punctual. Repeated defaulters will be punished.

2.

Children must be taken back home immediately after the school either by the parents themselves or any other person (servants etc) authorized by them through a letter containing the particulars and photograph of such person. School will not take the responsibility for the safety and security of the child in the school premises if the child is not collected within 30 minutes after the school is over.

3.

Students are supposed to go home straight after the school either with their parents/ authorized person or in the school bus. The school will not be responsible if the child leaves the school on his own without informing the school authorities or sneak out/ strays away from the school unauthorized and clandestinely alone or with his fellow friend or unauthorized person. Parents should instruct and educate their children in this regard properly.

4.

No student will be allowed to leave the school and go home during school hours unless on Medical grounds and accompanied by the parents/authorized person. It has been noticed that some students come to school only to appear for weekly tests, citing medical reasons. Such cases will not be entertained.

5.

Parents are requested to collect their ward at the school gate only and not to enter the school compound in an attempt to collect the child from the class rooms. On no account the parents will enter the class rooms.

6.

Parents/Guardians are requested to drop their wards 10mins before the assembly begins. Late-comers will not be allowed to enter the school.

Q?

TRANSPORTATION QUERIES

1.

Parents / Guardians are requested to consult the front office regarding any queries related to the transportation of the child.

2.

Fine will be imposed on the student found responsible for causing damage in the bus.

3.

Perfect discipline will be maintained while traveling in the school bus. Fighting, shouting, jutting out any part of the body outside the bus windows, standing on the open bus door, dismounting from the running bus is a grave breach of discipline. Such students apart from other punishment, will be debarred from traveling in the School bus/van for a period or permanently. Parents should educate their wards in this regard properly. School will not be responsible if any student gets injured by violating this rule.

4.

If any parent, whose child avails the school transport, wishes to collect their wards from the school in their private vehicle, need to take permission from the school office.

5.

Students should report to the bus pick-up point 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time to avoid any inconvenience. The bus will not stop at any particular stop for more than a minute.

6.

School transportation is a facility arranged by the school. It is not obligatory on the school to arrange conveyance to all the students from/to their homes. There may be delay in transit due to traffic congestion. Parents/Students should be either prepared to bear this little inconvenience or pay more to enable the school to engage, more vehicles. In case of any delay with the bus service parents are requested to contact the bus attendant directly as every bus has a mobile connection.

7.

The bus will pick-up and drop the students at the designated locations. No requests will be entertained regarding a change to the route or collection locations. In case of any inconvenience, the matter can be reported to the administrative unit and necessary changes will be done at the earliest.

8.

Parents may have to change their pick-up point temporarily in case of road blockage or road repair. Parents' are requested to co-operate with the school to overcome these unforeseen circumstances.

9.

Transportation Fees has to be paid for the holiday months i.e. Summer Vacation and other Holidays.

10.

The transportation vehicles will ply on the main roads and stop at the common stops only.

Transportation fees are liable to increase every year.
